Spatial relationship

private and public space

The image (top) shows the spatial relationship on each respective level.

Starting from the left is the ground  floor ,the first floor then the roof level.

In villa Savoye, Le Corbu suggest the term Piano Nobile

The piano nobile (Italian, "noble floor" or "noble level") is the principal floor 

of a large house, usually built in one of the styles of classical renaissance

 architecture. This floor contains the principal reception and bedrooms of the

 house.

The piano nobile is often the first (European terminology, 2nd floor in US terms)

 or sometimes the second story, located above an (often rusticated) ground floor 

containing minor rooms and service rooms. The reasons for this were so the rooms

 would have finer views, and more practically to avoid the dampness and odors 

of the street level. This is especially true in Venice where the piano nobile of the 

many palazzi is especially obvious from the exterior by virtue of its larger windows

 and balconies and open loggias. Examples of this are Ca' Foscari, Ca' d'Oro, Ca' Vendramin

 Calergi, and Palazzo Barbarigo.

Graphically, the private space and private space is divided diagonally.

In order to adopt the orthogonal gird, diagonal line is bent .

Distinguishing of private and public space

Private and public is distinguished by the controlling on penetration of light .

Color is representing the lightness of space, where the white

space on top is representing the void or open space without glazing 

surrounded,amount of light penetration is gradually deemed  in yellow

 space which refers to semi-private space with glazing on each side.

Lastly, the darkest space is literally the private cellular space

 represented in blue.  

Dynamic spatial relationship

The dynamic line (red) is the cutting apart the private and public

space.Originally a diagonal is always continuous inducing the tension between 

two main parts, its actually represents to connection involved ,circulation ,visual

 connection or even lighting (the central rectangular form)

Circulation and Movement 

The circulation is spatially and dimensionally mapped as a sculpture and 

mechanical form.Two major events ,the spiral step and central ramp 

is functioned  as threading the spaces on each levels.These two means 

of circulation is represented as orange volume penetrating all planes.

Horizontal routes diffuse across the plane trigger everything single parts 

of the villa.These electric board like sculpture remarks itself as a machine for living. 

The above images illustrate how the stair opens up the private area with a 

quick experience provided.

Ramp as the main event located at the central axis,unfold the 

architectural promenade that opens up generally private open space 

leading to the vista point.The theme of a overhanging slab is always

remarked.

The movement across the private and public space is therefore induced 

along the dynamic line above-mentioned.

Details against the Garden and the whole 

 

The void are relatively produced in detail to illustrate the coherence 

with the garden.

First, the plant in green is coherent to the garden (long green strip)

Secondly,the ribbon transparency provides light source for the containing slab 

but also a view from inside towards to meadow.

Thirdly,apart from a horizontally slit, the table guides a long view far towards the green

Lastly, the texture of the translucent plane differentiate itself as a public space and 

also illustrate a organic nature coherent to the garden. 

Overall combination

Overall, the three parts are highly interlocking.

Circulation opens up private space or public space.

In other words, private and public space are articulated by means of circulation.

Details define space by compartment,texture and distinguish the nature of every

room internally and also externally with the garden.
