It is implied that vertically thinking could be approved if it is on a right track.

    The bed in the enclosed area is to free his mind from dream .
It is proven, in contrast, mind is a prison in reality.
This seat on the balcony enable Freud to observe that
the formation of the pothole is due to vertical flow of waterfall.

a partial penetration of light in the Freudian prison
